Peter Harvey
Born in 1951, Brian Peter Harvey was first a student of Lance Cousins’ as an undergraduate at the University of Manchester, and after some studying in Canada and India he eventually got his PhD from Lancaster University in 1981 under Ninian Smart.
He co-founded the U.K. Association for Buddhist Studies, edited Buddhist Studies Review, published widely on (mostly Theravada) ethics, philosophy and meditation and taught regularly both at the University of Sunderland and at the Samatha Trust before his retirement in 2011.
