Ajahn Sumedho (1934–) is an American monk who ordained in Thailand in 1967. He was one of the first Western disciples of Ajahn Chah and, as the founding abbot of Amaravati Monastery in England, was a key figure in the transplanting of traditional, Theravada Buddhism to the West.
